Hey guys! I am so excited to incorporate and introduce to you this new section of my blog:
From my experience, I feel like we can all get stuck from time to time in a little bit of a funk. A rut. A monotony of routine. You know, those seasons where you are just kind of zombie walking from task to task, from one item on your to-do list to another. Anyone with me on that? It happens to me far more often than I like to admit. And hello, I live in freakin Hawaii! I wake up to the view of the ocean and am surrounded by lush green mountains and fresh fruit growing two feet from my doorstep. And yet, sometimes I walk out my door, blinded to the beauty surrounding me. I drive to work, forgetting to look out of the window at the deep blue ocean glistening to my right. I go through the motions at work, forgetting that the people I am serving have stories. They have dreams. They are inspirations in and of themselves, and I ignore the beauty they have to offer because I am too focused on pulling a perfect shot of espresso or maintaining a clean space for them to enjoy.
So really, this is just a reminder for me (and hopefully some of y’all who experience this too) to find inspiration in the little things of this life. This is a reminder to look up. Look around. Find something to be inspired by. And remember that this life is about more than to-do lists and daily routines.
I want to be inspired by this life.
I want to be reminded of our heavenly creator who is crafting beauty all around us.
I want to feel alive and curious, and jumping and the possibility to give thanks for all that’s happening around me.
So here you will find the things that are inspiring me every week. It could be something as simple as a single food–an avocado, or a powerful song lyric, or the color of the ocean on an ordinary Wednesday afternoon. I challenge you to join me. Find inspiration in your life, in the daily, in the ordinary.
Today, I am inspired by the scent of coffee that fills the coffee shop I sit at, lazily typing this post on a Monday morning. I find coffee shops a place for cultivating creativity & content. One of my favorite things to do is sit at a cozy coffee shop, reading my bible, a good book, or working on my blog. And today seemed just like the perfect day to start my inspiration station. I can’t wait to share with you guys, and hear what has been inspiring you!
